Celebrating Our 2024 Graduates
May 10, 2024 marked a joyous gathering at Horizon Christian Fellowship honoring graduates of Horizon U online programs and Calvary Chapel Bible College of Horizon U (CCBCHU):
- Six graduates of online Horizon U programs
- Six receiving a CCBCHU Diploma or Associate degree in Biblical Studies
- 100 or so attendees including college faculty, board members, family and friends, plus more seeing the event livestreamed
- Presiding were Randall Dodge, Horizon U President, Paul Lange, Director of CCBCHU and Dave Kosobucki, Academic Dean.
The featured speaker was Jordan McGaughey, Board Chairman of Horizon U and senior pastor of Horizon Christian Fellowship, which owns the campus property and sponsors the schools. Jordan holds both a CCBCHU Diploma and a BA in Biblical Studies from Horizon U. Jordan reminded grads of the estimated hours spent reading, writing papers, engaging new people and ideas. “All of this work has shaped you…made you different than when you came. It’s His process of (your) sanctification.”
Another highlight was seeing Patrick Johnson awarded the first-ever MA in Biblical Studies by Horizon U. A father, grandfather, businessman, Calvary Chapel pastor and Bible teacher, Pat shared how “For every class, I not only learned, but integrated (that learning) into Bible teaching and in other ways.”
Much credit to Monica Jones, Director of Admissions and Registration for spearheading the planning of this year’s wonderful event with Horizon U’s administrative leadership.
