Recapping the 2020 Mike MacIntosh “Heartland Tour”
Long-time Pastor, Chaplain, Mentor and Evangelist Fulfills Vision for the Midwest
Over months as Mike MacIntosh taught weekly on the Calvary Radio Network weekly program, “Biblical Insights”, he engaged with listeners from the Midwest states reached by the network stations. Sensing a unique openness to the Word here combined with a national need for repentance, Mike was given a vision to reach out to these churches and communities. Friends of Mike and Midwest pastors and staff planned a tour that spanned the summer of 2020, and the Lord was faithful. Highlights include:
- Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Missouri events
- Seeing the Lord work through innumerable people praying, organizing events and responding to God’s message through Mike and worship team including guitarist and recording artist, Rodrigo Rodriguez
- Calvary church leaders and local communities and officials working together to enable preaching of the Word in public parks and amphitheaters, during the Covid-19 crisis
- By the power of the Spirit, seeing obstacles overcome:
- In Kalamazoo, MI, people staying for the message huddled under tents during a huge storm
- Mike blocked from appearing at an Ohio event but churches still planning and pulling off effective outreach to their communities with special nights of worship.
- At a time when police in America are criticized and even attacked, Mike conducting 12 “Law Enforcement Encouragement” sessions in Missouri
Tom Worthington, pastor of Calvary Mission Fellowship, Crown Point, IN and one of the tour planners, had this take on the tour experience: “We saw first-hand that the Lord is able, but we (disciples and leaders) must step out on faith. We must be willing to do things that we can’t do on our own.”
