Teaching the English Language While Sharing God’s Love

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL) resonates in ministry today. English has become a global language and gaining a degree or certification in TESOL equips missionaries to teach in 100 or so countries where people are taught English.

But TESOL-trained instructors are often called to serve at home. Eritrean refugee and Christian Mengsteab Aregay Gebremariam found his new life in the US improved dramatically as he gained English language skills through Indy’s Immigrant Welcome Center and the “Pathway to Literacy” program. Witnessing his progress was teacher Ginger Kosobucki, who is also the lead TESOL instructor at Horizon U. For more about Gebremariam, read the article here from the 1/22 Indianapolis Star.
